If you've ever fumbled with a roll of copper foil while wrapping a piece of glass, you'll appreciate the convenience of this foil dispenser. High impact plastic tray
holds seven sizes of foil, and lets you easily pull off the amount you need. Largest slot holds scissors, fid, knife, and any other tools you use for foiling.
Pros : Keeps foil neat, organized, and untangled. No need to constantly untwist foil as when laying foil rolls on the workbench.
Cons : Foil is exposed to oxidation issues.
Other Thoughts : I use several of these, one for copper backed foil, one for silver backed foil and one for black backed foil. Another idea is to keep the entire dispenser in a ziplock bag when not in use for an extended period - helps reduce oxidation.
Pros : The foil dispenser is a must have for foiling. It keeps things organized and most important - your foil doesn't twist or run away compared to feeding from the roll on a table or in a bag. All of my students get these as part of our custom startup kit. You only have to buy it once and it's a workbench friend forever!
Cons : May require a quick cleaning now and then with soap and water, or we use alcohol and a q-tip to get the little bit of adhesive from the tape from the inside of the dispenser. Quick and easy to do and keeps foil running smoothly.
