Product Description
Play it Safe
Designed to install easily between regulators and hoses, flashback arrestors suppress dangerous flames before reaching the fuel source, keeping you safe. Features internal check valves, which are designed to prevent the reverse flow of gas, one of the major causes of flashback.
Use a quick-connect between the flashback arrestor and hose so you can instantly connect or disconnect your torch without turning off the gas supply. Durable solid brass connectors are color-coded and feature reverse flow check valves designed to prevent accidental gas mixing. An automatic shut-off valve ensures that the gas flow is completely shut off when disconnected.

5 stars A Must Have By on
Pros : These are a must for any flameworker's system. They are a little confusing but just make sure the arrow goes the same direction as the gas. Both should be pointing toward your torch. If not it's doing what it was intended which is blocking the flow (gas or flames). This is one of the first items we should invest in - it can save your life!
Cons : Worked great no complaints.

1 stars Doesn't Work At All By on
Pros : none
Cons : Get one of these somewhere you can test it first. I've ordered two, and neither one was functional--no gas through the line.

Flameworking with Borosilicate
May 28, 2012
Borosilicate Glass Borosilicate, or "boro" for short, is also called "hard glass"; it has a COE of 32 or 33. The lower COE means your finished pieces will have a higher resistance to thermal shock and breaking. Borosilicate glass has unique characteristics, including a fascinating property of changing colors in different types of flames. Boro projects are more easily reworked and will anneal faster than soft glass projects. Because it melts at a higher temperature, bigger and hotter torches are usually the best for hard glass work. Get the Right Equipment Torches for boro are fueled by propane and oxygen, so youll need appropriate hoses, regulators and flashback arrestors. Torches come in a variety of sizes; beginners will likely want to start with a small or mid-range torch. Annealers are handy, but are optional for basic boro work. Delphi has a great selection of all the shaping and hand tools
