Artists usually achieve 10 + firings at 1350 - 1485 F.
Artists using flat glass firing up to 1600 F obtain about 5 - 6 firings. Lava cloth easily cuts with scissors or a fabric roller knife.
Finish Your Piece With Texture! Add unique textures to your work! Lava cloth is great for dressing up the back of pieces to give them a more finished and professional look. 100% American made and does not stick to glass, kiln shelves, kiln brick, or fiber board.
It doesn't get much easier than this: simply fuse directly onto the lava cloth. Clean up is easy too, just put it in the trash. Lava cloth will last through many firings, so don't toss it until it starts to break down and gets fuzzy. Pre-firing is recommended because the cloth will shrink slightly during its first firing. Lava cloth is easily cut with scissors and is sold in 36" x 36" pieces (one square yard).
