Versatile vermiculite board can be cut and sanded just like wood. The board is extremely heat resistant (up to 2012 F) and has many applications.
Use to build a reusable mold box for casting.
Use as kiln shelving. Delphi Tip - support the board well with short kiln posts and use fiber paper on top of the board to prevent sticking.
Use to create custom molds like drop rings. Delphi Tip - cover with fiber paper before slumping.
Use for back up kiln insulation. The combination of rigidity and resistance to heat makes vermiculite board excellent for this application.
