Description
Angel's Shield is a 3 piece sculpture, 29"x22"x7". The main disc is fused and kiln-fired dichroic float glass with copper, oxides, and reactive inclusions. This work references the glass raku process pioneered by Boyce Lundstrom. It is intended to be viewable from both sides. The reverse of this disc is has a deeply textured satin mat surface, and the reactive colors are more intense. The stand is solid copper pipe and rod, finished with acid patina. The ends are capped with cast dichroic finials. The bottom fused glass slab provides a counterbalance to the height of the sculpture and visually connects the three components.
