Description

IZABELLA - SUL MARE (At Sea) Collection presents

#42-0712-8 SUL "ISLAND GIRLS SAIL" (12" Round Tack Fused Glass Sculpture with Wrought Iron Stand)

This is an extremely femine piece of art glass created to embrace the delicate softness of pastel colors and the sport of sailing so often mastered and enjoyed by the ladies. Sailing has so often been considered to be a man's sport, and the art world has for decades created powerful pieces in this manly representation of sailing. I wanted to create a particular piece of sculpture that would be specifically femine and pay tribute and recognition to the countless women whom have mastered this skill for both sport and pleasure.

This sculpture features a delicate vessel with lavender sails, sailing crystal aqua waters on a gentle calm sunny day. Dichroic glass illuminates the art piece throughout. This dichroic glass as used in the sun reflects both a golden yellow and violet lavender to compliment the sails depending on the light in which it is held. I incorporated some delicate white and magenta blossoms with bright lime green leaves to contrast the transparancey of the overall sculpture and further add a femine touch.

I hope this to be a tribute art glass sculpture to all the ladies that enjoy this magnificent sport. To calm seas and sunny sailing days to all of you.

This is an original one of a kind art glass sculpture signed, and numbered by the artist.

Display Suggestions: Many collectors choose to display IZABELLA pieces on window shelves, or with back lighting on entertainment units. Small cordless back lights are inexpensive and readily available at home improvement stores. The use of back lighting will allow you to enjoy the beauty of your piece day, or night adding a special ambiance to your decor.

Care and Cleaning: Recommend- Clean and handle as you would your finest crystal. Remove from stand and spray with white vinegar and water or any non-soap glass cleaner as soap tends to leave a residue. Gently pat dry with clean soft dry cloth.
