Pair with square drop ring mold to simultaneously drop and drape to create a truly elegant and unique vessel
Use in conjunction with the 8" square plate ring mold (item# 80651). Fit them together, as shown below, allowing you to drop glass through the ring onto another piece of glass that is simultaneously draping on the foot mold to create a truly elegant and unique vessel.
Mold has a unique shape so that the finished piece includes a foot, or slightly raised pedestal, rather than having a simple flat bottom. 9" across by 4-1/4" tall. Inside measures 6-1/2" across by 3" tall.
Pros : My mom ordered this but had it shipped to me, so before sending it on to her, I gave it a try and now I am in the process of ordering one for myself. This project turned out so fantastic I just love it. The mold is easy to use and once I figured out the firing schedule that worked with my kiln, I have had no trouble with it. I have the round foot drape molds, but I like this better since I don't have to cut circles.
Cons : Not really a con, but it was a learning curve to figure out the firing schedule so that it draped enough without over draping.
