Very disappointed 1 stars
By susanholstein on January 18, 2011 - See all my reviews
Pros : This looked like a great way to use up scrap glass and get a cool one of a kind piece of art. It does do that.
Cons : Like the others, my mold cracked, and though I can probably use it again, it is going to have the dark purple glass mixed in with it, so I pretty much have to use that color in some way. The directions are rather poor. They do not mention the "stem" you get that connects the mold to the puddle of glass. I had to fuse three times to get the stem thin enough to cut. I was worried about breaking the mold, but later noticed it had cracked anyhow.
Other Thoughts : I agree using a flowerpot makes a lot more economic sense. I like the glass, but the mold isn't practical. I have the other two and will likely return them for something more useful.

single use pot 1 stars
By cnelsonpoo on May 15, 2010 - See all my reviews
Pros : not much if it breaks and only one use
Cons : one use, try a clay garden pot.
Other Thoughts : one can use a small garden clay pot and have the same effect, its cheaper and one time use also.

Pot Melt 2 stars
By shortfuse3 on March 13, 2010 - See all my reviews
Pros : This is a good size for pot melting glass, especially in a shallow kiln.
Cons : After first fuse the pot cracked along the residual glass line. I guess it is designed to be used only once.
Other Thoughts : A lot of money for a one shot item.

Cool idea 3 stars
By campc1 on March 10, 2010 - See all my reviews
Pros : The pattern is cool. The idea is neat to use scrap glass or create interesting designs. I loved the glass I got out of it.
Cons : I followed the instructions carefully. I don't know if this is a single use item, but I know it cracked when I used it a second time. The crack is along the line of the residual glass in the melting pot - this leads me to believe it was a difference in the coefficient of expansion. It's too bad - the glass I got out of it was absolutely lovely and unique! And I can certainly use it for other projects. But I'm very disappointed that it's not a multi-use item.
Other Thoughts : I might buy another and try a lower ramp temperature and hold for a longer time.

pot melt 5 stars
By arnie on April 20, 2011 - See all my reviews
Pros : Have had some amazing results. No cracking problems
Cons : None Yet!
Other Thoughts : Have followed directions (side fire) explicitly. Could be top firing cause breakage?
