Pros : Cuts glass well. Blade has lasted longer than I thought.
|
Cons : The green "Laser" Light is an absolute joke that is attached like an afterthought and adds no value or function. The table top is impossible to level - maybe because it rests on a curved piece underneath and never really sets firmly. I constantly have to adjust the blade guides because the whole thing shakes them loose. And water goes everywhere except in the container below. The entire casing above the cutting surface gets completely wet and drips down onto the green laser light. We added extra sponges along the blade, but still doesn't solve the problem.
|
| Other Thoughts : For what this machine costs, I shouldn't have to make modifications in order for it to work. Very disappointing. Research other saws before you purchase this one. |

Pros : cuts glass great. Eliminates sanding time.
|
Cons : The green light is a joke, why not put a white light instead? I purchased a flexible light, the kind that is used for outdoor bbq's, what an improvement!

Pros : I have this saw and love it, however my local stained glass supplier did offer some solutions to problems mentioned. They gave me a triangular piece of clear glass that rests in the catch tray under the cutting surface. It acts as a splash guard and catches 90 percent of the water. Also, I've tacked a couple of sponges along the blade's route which also reduces excess water. I keep the water valve half-closed too...there's no need for a constant stream to be spraying everywhere.
People who are saying it doesn't cut tight circles may not have the blade guides installed properly. If the blade is not tight up against the white block and the metal guides are holding it perpendicular, there's no way it will cut those tight turns easily. When it's on correctly, it cuts like a dream

Cons : changing the blade takes some practice and the instruction manual could be more detailed.

Pros : I am a full time studio artist with over 20 years experience using professional level scroll and bandsaws with wood. Considering I had NO experience with wet saws or glass, the transition was easy and I have been able to teach Mosaic students to use my 2 DL3000s easily and with a high degree of safety. I somehow got the tension messed up while changing a blade and the Delphi and Diamond Tech staff were helpful. I had to send the saw back to Diamond Tech for re-adjustment but it was free and they were very kind in not over emphasizing the error of my ways. Be cautious in aligning the blade and adjusting tension on the wheels. The main issue for me is safety and find this to be easy enough to use that even a beginner can be confident enough to practice safe cutting. Very much like the adjustment for cutting thick/thin pieces. A good, reliable piece of equipment for frequent use by multiple users.

Cons : Water does splash everywhere (each saw sprays in a different direction) and does not stay contained in the drip tank. I have had to remove the plastic tubing from the pump numerous times to clean it out. If you don't keep the water tank clean all of the residue filters thru the pump and clogs the tube.

Pros : The saw worked great for about 2 months....
|
Cons : After 2 months of amazing satisfaction, the upper wheel some how worked its way towards the door, causing it to rub the inside of the door. I have had the thing apart and gotten the wheel pushed back, but now am having a horrible time getting the wheels aligned to hold the blade for longer than 2 seconds!
|
| Other Thoughts : I really like this saw, and did some amazing cuts while it was operational. I'm very frustrated at the moment and hope that I can get the wheels adjusted back so the blade will track properly. |

Pros : Nice cutting edge. Great full range cutting.
|
Cons : This machine has problems with the curcuit board. Purchased the first one in Nov. 2010 and the second one in Dec. 2010. I turned the machine on and off 5 times and cut a 1 inch piece of class then it stopped working. The saw manufacturer was very good about taking care of the problem which they admitted they had. I was not the only one with problems. They were having a tech from China in to see if he could figure out the problem. When the curcuit board gets fixed I'm sure it will be a great machine. The manufacturer suggested that we look at a different saw to purchase. I appreciated their suggestion.

Pros : It works.
|
Cons : Cheap construction throughout. A cheap skateboard bearings rusted solid in a few months of use, the table is way out of flat, the cheesy plastic cover door has warped to the point I needed install a screw to hold in the bottom of it, the wheels are wobbly enough that the saw vibrates at top speed, the "work light" is a joke. The only attempt by the manufacturer to control water spraying and dripping everywhere is a piece of sponge that gets stuffed into a little metal channel. Once you start a cut the paper-thin warped table resonates with enough noise to wake the dead. All the internal parts that are constantly exposed to water are now solid rust. I've been using this saw on a daily basis for three years now and during the first three months it spent most of its time in the shop for repairs and necessary modifications.
|
| Other Thoughts : For a beginner or somebody who will use the saw only on occasion, it might do. For the professional, forget it. Too bad there isn't a really good saw on the market. |

Pros : Makes great cuts once you get used to blade. Does take a bit of patience. Cant force the blade to cut faster.
|
Cons : I'm tired of getting water everywhere. My fingers are pruned by the time I'm done with a project. Water just splashes all over my work table. Annoying!
|
| Other Thoughts : Happier with my ringsaw |

Pros : I recently installed some marble (subway) tiles in our bathroom. Since this tile is not as brittle as ceramic tile, it didn't break cleanly when I used a tile cutter.
My Laser 3000XL saved the day. It produced perfect, clean, straight cuts and precise curves. Don't know what I would have done without it.
|
Cons : Since the tile was 1/4 inch thick, the sawing was a bit slow. As long as I didn't force the tile into the blade, it worked perfectly.

Pros : 1. The saw does simple cuts really well and is pretty fast.
2. Cuts are nice and smooth and can go straight to the kiln without much cleaning or grinding.
|
Cons : 1. Wear an apron! The saw spits water everywhere! I usually end up soaked.
2. You have to put the entire unit into some kind of large bucket or else you will have a huge puddle on the floor. I use a large storage tote.
3. The little green light that comes with it to light up the blade is pretty sad. I had to buy a separate light so I could see what I was doing.
4. Doesn't do interior tight turns very well. The thickness of the blade gets in the way. I don't know how they did the piece in the picture but sure couldn't get it to do that!
|
| Other Thoughts : This is my first and only saw and it does what I need it to but I do wish I had bought one of the ring saws. |
