This premium set includes 42 brilliant opaque and transparent enamel powders, giving you the full spectrum for shading, layering, and detailed surface design. Glass enamels are finely ground, colored glass that fuse permanently to your base glass when fired. They allow artists to paint, sift, or stencil intricate designs that won’t fade or scratch, opening the door to fine art techniques such as shading, gradients, and painterly effects.

Enamels are compatible with both 90 COE and 96 COE glass and matures between 1250–1450°F, giving you precise control over color development. This collection includes approximately 10 gm (a heaping teaspoon) of each shade, offering both range and versatility for experimentation and professional results. Ideal for advanced kilnforming, jewelry, and gallery-level work, this 42 color assortment provides a variety of colors to create pieces with depth and lasting brilliance.

Pros : For the price, the assortment of colors is great. I have been using these for several years now, and have made some beautiful pieces. As far as the COE, these don't have one and can be used on any glass.
Cons : As with all enamels, you have to keep a water supply handy as they dry quick, and it makes it difficult to keep a smooth line.
Other Thoughts : As with everything, trial and error is the way to go. Do some experimenting on small pieces of glass by making sample strips. This way you will have the colors and know how to use them. If you make your sample strips on clear, all you have to do is lay the clear strip on top of the color you want to put it on to know if it will be the right color.

Pros : Great color assortment! All bags were sealed and clearly labeled with color number that corresponds to the color chart in the user manual.
Cons : None that I've found so far.
Other Thoughts : I would definitely order this again.

Other Thoughts : More information on what the colours (enamel set F)are and how to use them can be found on Thompson Enamels web site. Their Thompson Enamel Woorkbook has a wealth of information. It is a very complete reference on all of Thompson's products. Well worth the cost.

When and how did you get started in stained glass? Ive been interested in stained glass for as long as I can remember. Contest ends June 30 and winners announced July 9, 2010. Following its annual festivities for National Art Glass Month, Delphi has organized another online event with the help of its partner ArtFire. The first annual Ring of Fire Artist Challenge is designed for all artisans of all crafts and abilities, inviting them to use common art supplies in new and creative ways. Chances are, right now, in reading this blog post, youre avoiding an overdue task. I too was avoiding a laundry list of work-related tasks in writing this.
