| Outstanding!
Pros : Excellent strip, triangle, square, and diamond glass cutting system. Easy to set up and use, and the included directions are very clear.
Cons : None that I can find.
| Other Thoughts : Simply love it. |
| I love it!
Pros : It was very simple to set up and use. I love that you have a place for glass cutter oil and it's a great measurement tool. It is really easy to do angles as well. The board sets up in 4 parts so it is easy to dump the glass bits.
Cons : I honestly can't think of a negative.
| WOW!
Pros : I can't believe I used to use a small hand cutter and a slippery ruler! This system is amazing.....
Cons : Make sure to follow the instructions! and use a square to initially set it up or you may get slightly off center lines
| Other Thoughts : LOVE IT! |
| Exceptional!
Pros : My top three: First is the sound of the perfect score achieved in my glass each and every time. Second is the time I save when making multiple shapes, such as diamonds for stars--a bonus is the diamonds have perfect points, fit perfectly together and none if minimal grinding required! Third, there is absolutely no strain on my hands and wrist when scoring with the Beetle Bits Cutter.
Cons : How about adding a smaller soft or hard case to store the pieces and parts.
| Other Thoughts : It is well worth the price. I have already made up my purchase by saving a lot of glass from breaking. My next purchase will be the circle cutting system. |
| The Best
Pros : I love this system. You do have to learn this system but once you do it is well worth it. It is very simple to learn. I just love this because of the cutter being built in and the way it glides along the bar. You can't miss. The angles are also simple because there is no math or guessing. Now there is a new ruler that is inches on one side and metric on the other, Thank you for that.
Cons : I do not have any cons on this system. I just love it.
| good idea-poor execution
Pros : This has the potential for allowing you to make sure, repetitive cuts. It's probably a good idea if you're cutting larger - ie 2" - pieces, but for use in cutting glass for fused glass jewelry - ie 1/2" - pieces, the jury is still out.

Cons : The instruction book is abysmal. I defy you to follow this book and set up the beetle bit set. However, a little patience and some common sense and, I think, you can make it work. I am particularly frustrated by the cutting piece. There are NO instructions for this and the set-up of the item, as delivered, is not intuitive. There's a screw that could be an adjustment screw for accommodating glass of different thicknesses, but who knows. No instructions on whether the cutter needs to be oiled and, if so, how often. No information on when, if ever, the cutter needs to be replaced. No information on where you'd get replacement cutting bits. By the way the cutter bit keeps falling out of the holder and there doesn't seem to be any way of locking it into the holder. There's a little wire thingie on the side of the cutter apparatus which must have some purpose, but, again, who knows.

| Other Thoughts : This "system" reminds me of the mat cutters used in picture framing. You position the glass to be cut against a stop and slide a blade which scores the glass. You then use running pliers to break the glass. Great idea! However, I bought it cutting small - 1/2" - squares and, because I haven't yet been able to get it set up (see "Cons:" I'm not sure it's going to be useful. Not quite ready to try to return it, but I'm close. |
| I love it!
Pros : I do a lot of strip piecing and this helps on 2 fronts. First, the perfect angle of the cutter minimizes the proportion of broken strips. Second, when I spend HOURS cutting strips with a hand-held glass cutter, my hand starts aching. With this cutter, I can use either hand to slide the cutter. No more aches!
Cons : I have two issues with the ruler:
1. getting the zero point on the ruler right is sometimes a challenge. That's a big deal with some of the precision cutting I do.
2. the ruler will sometimes rotate around -- I've stopped that by putting the oil holder against the far end of the ruler to hold it in place.

| Even I, the idiot can use this
Pros : Easy to put together. I have zero experience cutting glass, and wow! this was easy! I first cut too deep but on my second try, I went from amateur to pro. Okay, maybe not pro but it was easy. Thank goodness because I don't follow instructions very well...lol.
Cons : Husband was mad because I ran out of glass the first night and it was too late to go get more and he was annoyed because I wanted to use the fish tank or one of the upstairs windows so I could feed my new addiction. Actually the only con is I have a heck of a time adjusting that little screw when going between thick glass and thin glass but maybe I just haven't got a knack for that.
| Other Thoughts : I can't wait to get started on trying to cut other things than squares but that is all I really need right now but who knows what will happen next week!...Is it possible to build a house out of glass? tee hee |
| Easy to use system
Pros : This measuring and cutting system is easy to use. I mastered a couple of different kinds of cuts in just a few minutes. I haven't tried more complex cuts yet, but the instructions to do them seem very straightforward. The flying beetle cutter is easy to use and makes cutting strips of glass a breeze. I like the fact that the waffle grid system comes apart so that you can move it out of the way quickly or only use a portion of it for small projects.
Cons : None that I have yet discovered.
