Frit Piston
Pros : The handles on both the piston and the casing make it far easier to use. I especially like the super strong magnet.
Cons : The biggest problem is that both the piston and the interior of the casing are painted. It scrapes off into the glass and isn't removed with the magnet. While this isn't as much of a problem with larger frit sizes where it will be sifted out, if you work with the powdered form, it tends to muddy/mute the colors.
Other Thoughts : Here's a tip for using the magnet: Never drag it directly through the glass--you'll be forever trying to get the filings cleaned off. Instead, drop it into the corner of an envelope, e.g., and drag that through. Then just hold it over your disposal container, pull out the magnet and the filings fall right off. And the white background of the envelope makes it easy to see when you've finally gotten them all.

More Hassle than Help
Pros : Heavy construction makes it unlikely to break easily.
Cons : Why the manufacturers decided to paint the crushing shaft is beyond me. It is definately not out of the box ready which was very disappointing. Be warned despite the other reviews, you really cannot truly sort out the paint flakes and metal granules from the frit. This tool is frustrating and is a huge time sucker and a waste of glass (I have thrown countless batchs out). I'd rather melt all my spare glass in a mold in my kiln and cut on my ring saw to use in other ways. I've decided that if I need frit, I am going to buy it properly made by the glass companies going forward.
Other Thoughts : Buy Pre-made frit - its WAY EASIER.

Good tool!
Pros : Easy to use. The piston it’s very solid and will break the glass in one shot. It’s an efficient small tool it fit everywhere.
Cons : You’ll need to break big glass pieces to make them fit.
