Step-by-Step: Fun And Easy Glass Fusing!
1. Place glass face down on a flat cutting surface.
2. Score glass using a glass cutter to desired shape and break.
3. Layer glass on kiln paper inside kiln and fuse. Beginners can fuse glass in minutes with the Fuseworks Microwave Kiln.
Fuseworks Kiln has been tested safe for use in a household microwave. Manufacturer recommends cleaning the microwave after each use and to begin testing with a shorter time, following manufacturer instructions.
Delphi Tip: Microwave kilns are meant for glass only projects. Delphi does not recommended using any glass molds within the microwave kiln.
Pros : I have always wanted to try fusing but being a silver artist I never wanted to put glass in my kiln so I purchased the microwave one. This morning I made my first piece. I tried to cut a sheet prior to putting it into the kiln but could not seperate it so I put it in as it was got a very funky shape to it and sold it before I even put it on a chain. Great for me to fill in my time between silver firings. Just perfect for my needs
Cons : Possibly not enough kiln paper but what a trip when you first open up your kiln and see your first piece.
Other Thoughts : Suggest purchasing more glass and a glass pliers because some of the glass is too large for this kiln but it is a dream come true for me I may be old but I am still learning.
Pros : I have been a fuser for ten years and swore I would never use a microwave kiln. I needed to learn how to use one for a class I was going to teach, the students from my current class helped me play and we all love it. As long as you pay attention to the heat and don't overload it it is a great little starter kiln.
Cons : The instructions need a lot of help. But I am going to play around and see what I can come up with.
Other Thoughts : This is a great way to see if the fusing bug really has a hold on you. It is fast and gives instant gratification, but like anything you need to practice. I think that most people who buy this to fuse glass will move up to a real kiln.

Looking to expand the scope of your bottle cutting projects? Listen up. Diamond Tech International has just created a new bottle cutter, the Generation Green™ (G2) bottle cutter. Its clever design allows users to cut anywhere along the bottle’s curved body and to cut rings of various sizes. The tool is adapted to cut almost any size glass container including wide-mouth jar and oversize wine bottles, a feature customers have been specifically asking for. And its lightweight frame allows users to cut bottles in a few quick steps. Sturdy construction and a 6-wheeled turret cutting head helps ensure long product life. The G2 can be used for creating a variety of projects, ranging from hanging pots and votive holders to glass jewelry. It earns Delphi’s title of “Earth Friendly” because it allows artists to repurpose used bottles into components for glass art. In addition, it is constructed entirely from recycled
