| Great if you don't have a kiln |

Pros : This is inexpensive as well as quick and easy to use. If you are just starting out, or if you make only a few items, this may be a great start.
Cons : Thicker pieces, or pieces that have attachments may not fully adhere. The binder simply doesn't burn away, so it can't sinter properly. I had to re-fire some of my pieces 2 or 3 times to get the full sintering. Then after I got my kiln I re-fired again and everything was fine.
| Other Thoughts : This is a great starter kit, but if you are serious about precious metal clay, then get a kiln - even if it's one of the smaller ones. You will be so much happier with the results, |

Pros : This little kiln is so easy to use. The instructions are short, clear, and concise. I was firing clay within a few minutes of opening the box.
I was impressed at how well the Hot Pot actually fired my pieces. It is so much easier than a torch. Once the fuel all burns away, one knows that the pieces are fired, and one doesn't have to worry that they are over- or under-fired.
Cons : I was concerned about the open flame so I always have to take the Hot Pot outside to use it. The fuel is somewhat messy, but still pretty easy to use. The Hot Pot will crack with repeated use, and may crack to the point that one cannot use it anymore.
| Other Thoughts : This is a great beginning kiln. It is inexpensive and works remarkably well. I am in the process of buying an electric kiln and retiring my Hot Pot, but I would highly recommend it for anyone on a budget. It has worked great for me. |

Pros : I LOVED using this product from the moment I purchased it at Delphi's store. It is super simple to use, the directions are clear and to the point and most importantly I was able to use the PMC Hot Pot and my PMC clay and create awesome one of a kind silver jewelry to give as gifts.
After experimenting with making PMC pieces, I added a full-sized kiln to my home craft arsenal, however I often pull out my mini Hot Pot to create quick pieces of jewelry! Friends and family can not believe that I created the silver pieces and I am often asked to create more custom pieces using my Hot Pot.
Cons : The biggest cons in using the PMC Hot Pot is that one is limited somewhat with the materials you can use, and also the space to fire the PMC to create your silver pieces. In space I am specifically referring to the area available in the Hot Pot. Since it is only a small kiln, you can only fire 1-3 pieces at one time (a pendant and two earrings) or several small silver charms depending upon your likes.
| Other Thoughts : I would HIGHLY recommend the PMC Hot Pot to anyone interesting in trying out PMC clay as a new hobby - the price is right for the beginner! Even a crafter with limited space would appreciate the product - I know from using it and spreading the word I have gotten several friends to purchase their own Hot Pots for the PMC projects. It will be easy to become hooked! |
