One Great Soldering Iron 5 stars

Pros : This is a quality, rugged soldering iron that has the heat and the power to make soldering a little easier. It's a good price for a good iron. This iron is part of the starter kit for ALL of my stained glass students and the only one we use in our student area in our glass shop. This iron is easy to handle and the grip stays cool to the touch.
Cons : The black foam-like sleeve will come loose and slide around but a little glue at the coolest end puts it right in its place again. Slightly annoying but does not affect performance.
Other Thoughts : A great iron. Invest in your iron - you get what you pay for. You should buy it to keep it, not to change it out for something else later.

Pros : I use this iron with lead free solder and it makes a very even bead. I am surprised at how well it works without a rheostat and how fast it heats up. I have used it for a couple projects already and it has yet to let me down!
Cons : The handle does get a bit hot, but not overly so that I have to stop soldering.
Other Thoughts : I got this iron as part of a starter pack here. I would recommend it for its low price and good quality.

Pros : Good even heat without a rheostat (even though I tried one). My instructor recommended it and I've not been disappointed. I'm new at doing stained glass and this is super for the novice or the expert!
Cons : None
Other Thoughts : Thanks for a great iron that I will be able to use for a long time! Great power! Even flow heat!!
