This kaleidoscope uses a tapered mirror system to create the optical illusion of a tree dimensional sphere suspended against a black background. Like a planet lost in space! When you look into the large end of the scope, the surface of the Lost Planet swirls with colorful kaleidoscopic images generated by two oil wands. The finished scope measures 8 1/2" x 2 1/4" square at the base. The kit includes three taper-cut pieces of front surface mirror, two Little Oil Wands, brass wire, foot pads, black foam tape, cardboard patterns, instructions (including four additional versions of the basic design).
