Pros : I have several of these, in different lengths, and the cork back is great for keeping my cutter from pushing the ruler across the glass.
Cons : The other reviewer is correct about the frustration concerning the ruler not starting at the edge. I suppose starting at the edge may compromise the accuracy, but it would sure be more convenient.
Other Thoughts : While I have had no problem with the thickness, I do have an 18" ruler from an art studio which is thicker, and it does feel better to cut against.

Pros : Nice price.
Cons : The ruler doesn't start at 0 -- it has an extra 1/8" on each end. The cork on the back is not deep enough to make it comfortable for me to cut glass with it.
Other Thoughts : If you want a ruler for cutting glass, buy something more substantial.
