Product Description

exclusive Add a beautiful metallic luster to your next fused glass project with this Royal Silver - 90 COE Royal Glass. The lightly textured surface and subtle pearl luster finish provide a decadent finish that can be layered with other fusible glass to make a bold statement.

All Royal Glass is handmade, so your piece may vary slightly from the photo. Glass has a clear base with a vibrant metallic finish that won't burn off during firing. You can achieve completely different looks by just changing what you place behind it. Shown above fired on clear (top) and black (bottom). Additional images show unfired on white and on black. Sold in 12" x 12" pieces. 90 COE. A Delphi Exclusive.

The pearlescent color of the Royal Silver glass is made from 100 percent nontoxic materials, which remain delicate until fired. For optimum results, do not use harsh cleansers directly on the coated side or submerge the glass in water before firing. To best retain the full richness of color coating, Royal Glass should be capped or fired with the coated side against an opaque base glass. For more tips, view the User Manual in the additional images section.

  •   one of my favorite types of glass

Pros : While I agree with the above comments that it is costly and metallic "can" rub off IF you get it wet BEFORE working with it; but I really love this glass (all colors) for jewelry and highlights on various pieces. It always catches my customer's eye and sells very well. The two pieces I made where the metallic kind of smudged, I put it back as best I could and those two sold faster than any of the others. Love this glass, Can't wait until they get it in other colors like purple, blue or red! My jewelry customers would go ballistic!
Cons : Pricy when using a large piece on a 10 x 10 item, as the Gallery gets 50% of my price. Makes it had to sell those pieces.

  •   Working with this glass

Pros : While previous reviews are correct that glass pattern comes off during cutting on ring saw, grinder, etc. I have found that if you fuse the full sheet to a sheet of thin clear or black before working on it, it saws very well without losing the pattern. I have customers who request this glass.
Cons : Tricky to work with. Would be better if the manufacturer would "seal" it between two thin sheets before selling.

Pros : You must be very careful not to get the glass wet. I do not let it touch the shelf of the grinder and I hand wash the glass being careful to only hold on the edge, otherwise the coating comes off.
Cons : I had beautiful results using on my Christmas ornaments!
