Product Description

Papyros™ Kiln Shelf Paper is a ceramic-based paper specially formulated for glass fusing. It is ideal to for the majority of fusing projects up to 1600°F. Because of its sturdy composition, Papyros™ provides excellent glass/kiln shelf separation on the first use, and frequently in subsequent firing as well. Studio Roll measures 41" x 33'.

Papyros™ tends to retain its paper-like qualities during firings, rather than decomposing into loose dust. The degree to which Papyros™ retains its integrity can be affected by the characteristics of the glass being used as well as firing schedules.

  •   Love, love, love this product!

Pros : I have been able to use this at least 4 times if I wait until everything is completely cooled before removing the pieces.
Cons : When using multiple times, can get quite dusty for removal, use a mask to be safe
Other Thoughts : Wish it would come in 14" rolls to fit the smaller kilns that many of us have.

  •   Great paper!
By on
Pros : Can get 2-3 firings if very careful lifting glass off. Easy to remove from kiln for clean up. No problem w/ roll - either keep full size to cut larger kiln shelf pieces, or cut on table saw (w/ mask) into smaller rolls.
Cons : None
Other Thoughts : Excellent product. Doesn't disintegrate and economical when using for multiple firings.

  •   ggod paper but cumbersome roll
By on
Pros : Good sturdy paper. I was easily able to get two full fuses out of each sheet.
Cons : The roll is a pain in the neck, especially if you have a small studio like I do. The paper curls (this is a major problem is you have small light weight pieces) and has to be worked a little before it will lie flat in the kiln. I started pre-cutting sheets, laying them upside down on a flat surface and weighting them to get the curl out. Although I will buy the paper again I won't buy the roll again.
Other Thoughts : The rolls could be a little more user friendly, like put measure marks on the back and a serrated edge on the box.
