Pros : I used the metal nozzle (large size) on a bottle of white, drew designs on 20 black glass cabochons I had pre-fused and then fused them at the recommended temperature of 1500f or 815c, on a short nine and a half hours fusing schedule for a sc2 paragon kiln. Every one came out perfect and the ease of use meant I had very few mistakes. If I made a mistake it wiped away easily with a damp tissue. I drew swirls, leaves, dots, trees and they all look sensational. They have had bails attached and go into the local gallery tomorrow for sale. Black base with white glassline pen is superb and is also great with dichroic if drawn onto any black areas. It gives a matte finish on a shiny black background and stays as bright after firing as before and keeps its shape. Cabs to the back of the kiln fully fused and cabs to the front kept their slight relief above the surface.
Cons : The smaller metal tip I cannot manage to push any shading material through but the larger works a treat and is not too large for fine lines for jewelry. With the cap on give the bottle a vigorous shake, remove cap and screw on large tip. Point tip down, over tissue paper and gently squeeze until a small amount comes out. Wipe the tip on a tissue and your bottle is primed to go. A gentle squeeze is all that is needed for this to flow consistently. The metal needles clear any blockages if it dries in the tip.

  •   Glassline Black
By on
Pros : Good for lettering
Cons : Easily smears
Other Thoughts : I use a detail bottle with a metal tip to do lettering on my glass pieces. This product is very runny, so it can take several tries to get even lines. I fire at 1480. It has a slight mat finish, but that’s ok with me.

  •   Great product
By on
Pros : Product worked fantastic! It was easy to use, and once dry, was easy to scrape off areas to refine the design. The three tips provide a great range offline thickness.
Cons : The directions give absolutely no idea what a "full fuse" is. We used 300/hr to 900, hold 15 min, 500/hr to 1100, 100/hr to 1250, hold 30 min, 9999/ hr to 1450, hold 10, 9999/hr to 960, hold 30, 200/hr to 700, 400/hr to 100. Also, directions state to put design side down. We questioned that, put one design down and one design up. Design up worked much better, with crisp black lines and deep color, while ace down looked grey and muted.
Other Thoughts : Great product to add writing and detailed designs to your fused glass. Look forward to working on the Scottish coat of arms I have been challenged to do.

  •   Recent discovery
By on
Pros : I love Glassline paint! I saw it in the catalog and decided to try it. It's great for drawing on glass. It gives different effects than using just cut glass. I love to draw. I wish I had tried it long ago!! The texture of the paint after firing is interesting against the shiny glass--a real plus.
Cons : None

  •   Great for details
By on
Pros : I have had great success with the glassline pens. They are a huge help when trying to get fine details on pieces. I love this product
Cons : If it is applied too thick, it can sometimes crack during firing.
Other Thoughts : Let the glassline dry before firing. You can then see if there is cracking and also if your lines have bled. It is easy to scrape off any excess with a toothpick.
