Product Description

The Mega blade works with the Taurus 3 Ring Saw. Engineered with a special "tear drop" shape that makes this an extremely strong and durable blade. This blade is used differently than the standard Omni- directional blades. It cuts mainly on the front and back, so to create a curve you will guide the material around the blade. The Mega blade is so rigid that it has the ability to damage the saw itself if used improperly by pushing too hard. So keep in mind the "golden rule" to let the saw do the cutting and do not force the material. The Mega blade will cut dense materials such as marble, granite and porcelain up to 1/4" thick. Includes grommets.

The flocked belt (sold separately) #5750 is recommended for use with this blade, providing the best blade support and stability while cutting.

  •   Needed Flocked Belt

Pros :
Cons : I have not been able to use this blade because I did not know the manufacturer recommended using a flocked belt instead of the standard belt provided for the standard belt. Now I am waiting for the flocked belt to arrive.
Other Thoughts : Manufacturer needs to be clear about this recommendation

  •   Mega cut density
By on
Pros : Mega blade, mega cut density. Great blade for thick fired pieces of glass. Personally have only cut up to 6-8 mm thick glass, but can't see why it wouldn't cut for example pattern bars. As all diamond blades, they are best when first installed. Suggest bigger projects or thicker glass be cut first when you install a new blade. Much sharper and faster. But depending on how much you actually cut, can last a decent time period. The blade is hard to break, very sturdy. I've used Taurus 10+ years and only broke 3. Two of which I used so long that I had to push with great force to cut through the glass and the force actually broke the blade (guess I wore off all the diamonds :)). The other time, I was pretty novice and tried to make too many intricate turns too fast. Makes good straight cuts, recommend blade stabilizer be used on older model saws. Helps to keep the cut straight. Can make intricuts, straighter is better and slower is better than faster (movement).
Cons : No diamond blade at these prices last long enough, right? Only slightly harder to install than the round blade.
Other Thoughts : I'm a Taurus user and never had any other saw. So I have no comparison to saws or blades. I own two.

Pros : Aggressive Blade
Cons : None so far!
Other Thoughts : Love this blade....kind of pulls the glass itself...you don't have to apply to much pressure. Great blade!
