  •   Best Grinder I have had
By on
Pros : This is so much better than my previous grinder. I had to replace it after moving back to the US because it was wrong voltage. So glad I did

  •   Great grinder - slight limitations
By on
Pros : What a great grinder! I really do love it! It is a work horse! Can grind for 8 hours straight no problem! Great customer service provided. Big work surface. Easy to drain.
Cons : -After about a year of using the platform with the smaller top screw it stopped pumping water up. Customer service was great, but there is a slight flaw in the shaft. There is a cog that has to be pushed down into the gears underneath. If it stops working they told me to push that down. I now have to do it once a week or so with daily use. -Only works with 1 inch grinder heads. (something I should have done more homework on). The Glastar grinder heads are expensive, but do last about 3x longer.

  •   Grinds smooth like the glass is butter!
By on
Pros : Takes the pressure without binding up. Not as noisy as other grinders.
Cons : You have to remove the top safety parts when grinding a large piece.

  •   Wish I'd bought this sooner!
By on
Pros : Incredibly easy to set up and use. Very easy to clean.
Cons : A little messy as water sprays out the side and back. I put a rolled up towel in the "spray zone" and that keeps the mess contained.
Other Thoughts : I started working with glass just over a year ago and did not buy this grinder until about a month ago because I didn't think I needed one. This grinder is phenomenal and has completely changed my game. I'm able to get the pieces, shapes and precision I need in a fraction of the time. I've spoken to many artists who have this very model and quite a few were still using the same one The bought 20-years ago. Very happy with the Glastar!!!

  •   Glastar grinders
By on
Pros : I have had mine for 30 plus years, and it is still going, ordering another as mine is now a grinder in a friends studio. I have the small ones also for classes and they are still going also. Don't know if the new ones hold up as well, but Glastar is a good choice in my option.
Cons : No one talks about putting grease in the grease zerks in the motor, but it is a good idea. Makes it last longer.

  •   Great Grinder
By on
Pros : This grinder does everything. I am new to stained glass and am so glad I purchased the All Star G8. I love the mini deck that makes it so easy to grin small pieces.
Cons : The grinder could use an extra small grinder bit to be included with the other two bits.
Other Thoughts : Great addition to my work bench.

  •   Simply Awesome!!!
By on
Pros : Read all the other reviews and add this to them. I'm extremely mechanically enclined and work with many tools in many trades. This is a great tool for this trade. This tool makes me look like I know what I'm doing... You get what you pay for and this tool is well worth the money. I left the bit on it for 4 years while I had other projects going. Removing the bit was no problem. The bit, after extended use, still works like new. I can't say enough about this grinder. I'm going to buy their disk grinder next.

  •   What was I thinking?
By on
Pros : Grinds quickly, portable, multiple bit attachment
Cons : Spits sideways, Wish it had suction cup feet!
Other Thoughts : I did a 22 x 33 panel without a grinder. WHY? Didn't know they were out there. NOW, i won't live without it! You cut it, it can be ground! Love the smallness!

  •   Love it!
By on
Pros : I didn't find it hard to set this up at all. The mini table works great for tight corners - I'm using it on the interior of fused switch plate and outlet covers - works like a charm! Super quiet.
Cons : Sprays water, but I expected that! The design is a bit 70's - but it works, so that is what matters.
Other Thoughts : I expect this to last for years.

  •   Essential tool
By on
Pros : Great value for the money! I bought it when just starting out and see no need to upgrade. Does everything I need it to, and you can attach any bit needed!
Cons : The shield thing does not do much. I traded that out and just wear safety glasses.

  •   Grown Up Grinder
By on
Pros : Large surface is handy, love the tool drawer, can actually find things. Light weight also. Grinds quickly.
Cons : Needs a splash guard and something underneath. Gives off a lot of water on regular surface but so do the others.
Other Thoughts : The 1" bit that came on it wasn't on tight and it seized so had to use DW40 to pull it off. Should have taken it off and put back on when got grinder. But really like it.

  •   For Beginners
By on
Pros : If you don't need to save money on a grinder go for this one. With my cutting skills as a beginner it is a life saver! In the shop where I am learning we use the smaller studio grinders, and it takes forever to get rid of the excess material, while my fingers get cut on the glass by pushing it against the grinder for an extensive period of time. This grinder just blows through the glass in the matter of seconds. Wonderful!
Cons : The only thing that was hard for me is to put the grinder together. The instructions were made to someone who knows what are the different parts of the grinder. There is no picture of the parts with the names under it, so I felt rather intimidated. (No step by step how to put it together pictures either). You need to go and figure out yourself and screw the eyeshield holder into the base without having premade or indicated holes for them.
Other Thoughts : My cons are insignificant regarding the product and how it works. This grinder makes life easy.

  •   Awsome!
By on
Pros : I love this grinder! It is versatile and easy to use. The upper deck is great when using the small bits. I was able to drill holes in my fused glass work with very little effort and much less complicated than using a diamond drill bit. The storage drawer is a nice addition.
Cons : None that I can think of.

  •   All- Star is a Star!
By on
Pros : Nice large area to work on no matter how big your project is. Great at grinding right into your glass no matter how thick it is as the motor is very strong. It has a drain plug and I do not need to move the grinder to drain it as I drain it at the work bench right into a pitcher, I have had four grinders and this one is the Cadillac of them all!
Cons : Gets area a bit wet
Other Thoughts : Keep it Clean and rinse out though the drain plug.

  •   one tough grinder!!!
By on
Pros : This grinder has met &defeated every challenge i've put it through!
Cons : Had trouble keeping sponge in place & wet enough
Other Thoughts : With a little brainstorming I got rid of any water-slinging & now have constant flow to diamond bit & sponge.

  •   Exceptional Value
By on
Pros : Reliability and power. Ease of cleaning. Compact size and additional table top, with pump, for small bit grinding.A real workhorse worth every penny.
Cons : The straight edge guide could be redesigned to simply "plug in" to the table top.
Other Thoughts : Much better than all others, in performance, design, and value.

  •   Excellent and easy to use!
By on
Pros : Best all around grinder! Has the power and performance to top the rest in hobby or pro! The pump squirts water on the small bit which is why I bought it for using it to clean up the inside of glass letters. You can direct the spray right on the bit!
Cons : just the way the glass protective shield is mounted is a mystery to me at first glance. Also, the roller guide is hard to figure out how to assemble at first take.
Other Thoughts : Best on the market well worth the price!
