Pros : Love how easy it is to change out the grinding drums. I have used in a couple of projects. This grinder really helps smoothing out the edges.
Cons : It can get a little wet in the surrounding area. Best to have on a surface that can take water.

  •   Good Grinder ...But Beware!
By on
Pros : My Power Max II grinder went out after years of use, so I decided to purchase another one. It was a good work horse.
Cons : When I received my new Power Max II, I went to use my old Twofer bits and found they wouldn't fit on the new grinder. Apparently Diamond Tech changed the spindle diameter and my old grinding bits are useless now.
Other Thoughts : I'm a really Peeved that they changed their design. I guess all I can hope is that Twofer will change their bits to fit the new spindle size.

  •   Power Max II Deluxe Grinder
By on
Pros : A powerful and long lasting machine. I wrote a review in 2008 about my grinder and here seven years or so later it is still operating without any evidence of weakening. I very highly rate it. See other thoughts.
Cons : Throws water, no other way to put it! You will need a Mr Splash or equivalent to protect walls and or furniture around it.
Other Thoughts : With the extras it comes with, it is cheaper than it was when I bought it. While the foot pedal is very helpful, it is not a necessity. But the smaller bits and shield holder are. This is a fabulous buy on a fabulous grinder.

  •   Takes it to the next level

Pros : Good bye hand grinding. No more chipped edges. Perfect glass edges with little to no effort.
Cons : If a surrounding splash guard came with it, I would give it six stars.
Other Thoughts : Easy set up. I was grinding within minutes of taking it out of the box.

  •   Excellent Grinder for the price
By on
Pros : Excellent customer service. I had my machine go out and explained my problem to technician and had a replacement part within a week. It has always performed exceptionally well up until this point (owned for 2 years).
Cons : It does throw water, but don't overfill. I use a fish tank turned on it's side and it is no problem with the water.
Other Thoughts : I would recommend this grinder to anyone starting out in stained glass!

  •   Highly recomended

Pros : Great grinder, very powerful. I really like the added foot petal, it allows you to keep the grinder on and ready through my entire session.
Cons : Can be a little messy, I suggest splash guards if your studio is small.

  •   Power Max II Review
By on
Pros : I have used my Power Max II for about 6 years. Pros: This is a tremendously powerful machine --- you can really "lean on it" without apparent harm. In all, an excellent mid-range grinder. My primary needs are power and durability and this machine definitely provides them.
Cons : Cons: The grinder is very messy. It throws a lot of water all over.

  •   Good - But could be better
By on
Pros : Very stable, lightweight.
Cons : The top guard needs to be larger. It throws water everywhere, on you, to the rear and to the left. It is very messy. I actually hung towels around to catch the water that is thrown around. The plastic holder that holds the cooling sponge in place seems to pop up when teh sponge expands, so I was constantly adjusting it as it leaves a ridge on teh surface which interferes with the glass sliding to the grinding wheel, after several adjustments on the sponge, I eliminated this issue.
Other Thoughts : A plastic three sided shield would be great for this as well as something to stop the water from being thrown on your shirt.
