  •   Love this kiln
By on
Pros : I've had several kilns & this one is the best for glass fusing. I fuse 90coe, window float glass, upcycled, & my stash of 1800s glass. This kiln is good for traditional enamel painted, new enamels, freeze & fuse, slumping, tack firing. I like the presets as well as my own programs. 10 years & still going strong.
Cons : My one issue is the round shelves don't utilize the space well. Octagonal shelves to fit the kiln shape would be much better.
Other Thoughts : Def would buy again.

  •   Great kiln
By on
Pros : Good, compact size for small to medium projects, the TAP controller is awesome with preset firing schedules and room for seemingly endless custom programs, very easy to use, even for beginners like me.
Cons : Limited on the size of square molds that can be used... If you like to fire on molds like I do, carefully consider the size of the mold before buying, to ensure it will actually fit inside the kiln chamber. The hexagonal shape of this kiln accommodates, for example, a 13” disc (round mold), however does NOT accommodate a 12” square mold (because of the 4 corners). I learned the hard way when I unthinkingly purchased a 12” texture mold that doesn’t fit in the kiln. I’ll likely end up trimming the corners off with my ring saw.
Other Thoughts : The stand that comes with the kiln is sturdy, but is only a few inches tall and is likely meant to be used if both are placed on an elevated working surface such as a table. Kilns situated on the floor are more easily accessed if placed on a higher stand.

  •   Fabulous kiln, easy to use
By on
Pros : Built-in programs for COE 90 and 96. Full or tack fuse, with fiber or not. Lots of options. Can even custom program if the built in programs aren't perfect for your project.
Cons : None that I can see.
Other Thoughts : I'm a beginner and this kiln makes it easy to get beautiful results. So much fun!

  •   Amazing Kiln, Amazing controller!
By on
Pros : I absolutely LOVE this kiln! I have owned about 6 since I've started YEARS ago and this is, hands down, my favorite! Super easy to program and just a great all around kiln. If you're looking to do just a bit more than jewelry and small kiln work, this is the one! The TAP controller is awesome and I love the fact that I don't have to remember which program is which anymore!
Cons : The only problem I had was how small the letters are when typing in a "Title" to your program, BUT I took care of that by using the eraser end of a pencil like a stylus!
