Class Description: Get into the exciting world of torchworked glass art, not sure what that is? Don't worry we'll show you and help you begin to master borosilicate. The ultimate glass for making contemporary glass sculpture, marbles and pendants. In this 5 hour class, instructor Val Oswalt-De Waard will provide an introduction to the safe set up and operation of professional grade torches, including all the hoses, couplings, oxygen and propane pressure gauges. Students will have an opportunity to experiment with color, while creating pendants and small solid forms.
Safety: Please do NOT wear open toed shoes or sandals. Long pants are recommended but not mandatory. Natural fiber clothes are best, cotton, linen, etc. Long hair should be tied back. Safety glasses must be worn, glasses are provided in class if needed.
Tools & Materials Included: Each student will have the use of a complete workstation, including torch, hand tools and borosilicate glass.

Type of Class: Demonstration and hands-on project
Class Description: Try you hand at beadmaking in this 3 hour beginner workshop. This class will provide an overview of glass beadmaking using a torch. Melt glass rods to shape into colorful beads in this hands-on introduction to beadmaking. All materials and use of our torches are included in this fun and informative warm glass experience. We appologize in advance for getting you hooked.

Type of Class: Lecture, demonstration and hands-on
Class Description: Kick it up a notch (we promise it will be fun) with Beadmaking Workshop II . Add to your already awesome skill base learning how to pull and use one and two color stringers to make dots and flowers. Try a variety of hand tools for stretching, shaping and mashing. You'll be glad you tried this!

Class Description: Have you ever wanted to create custom glass blown ornaments? Well heres your chance! Create custom blown glass ornaments the simple way. Making custom glass ornaments is easy with Glaskolben pre-blown clear glass cylinders with blow pipe ends. These ornaments will look reminiscent of traditional European artisans. Students will use a Hot Head torch and MAPP gas to create several ornaments. Use 90 COE frits and stringers to customize your holiday colors. No previous experience needed. All materials are included except for MAP/Pro gas. This can be purchased at any local hardware storel

Type of Class: Demonstration and hands-on project
Class Description: Blow some Glaskolben tubes for ornaments and to fuse into a decorative plate. Students will blow a few glass globes, keeping some as ornaments and or using the less than perfect ones to decorate a clear 12 x12 inch fusable piece of glass. You will make your own one of a kind colorful abstract glass plate by fusing some of the blown glass globes, glass frit and glass stringer to the clear base piece of glass. No glass fusing experience is necessary. All materials are included.
