Pros : Roy is so knowledgeable and makes the class fun. I learned a lot and will be back to purchase a kiln.
Cons : No cons! I was sorry the class had to end :)

Pros : Students learn a lot about different fusing products, how fusing works, and fusing schedules. Roy makes learning fun and is very helpful. He has examples of different projects and he is able to explain what went wrong with those that did not turn out well.
The class is hands-on. During the class, you get to watch your pieces fuse, which helps to illustrate the effect temperature has on your fusing project.
Cons : None!
Other Thoughts : A great way to get started with fusing!

Pros : I liked the small class size, and a kiln and workspace for each student! I liked all the glass scrap colors that were available. Roy is a great teacher.
Cons : It would have helped to have some glass cutting experience ahead of time, but I caught up pretty quick anyway. Other students in class were friendly and helpful. (That last bit is a pro, not a con)
Other Thoughts : I will be back!

Pros : This was an excellent class for beginners. Loved how the instructor Roy kept repeating the same vital information over & over again (and left out the stuff some of us asked). It could get confusing for extra newbies to kilns. Delphi is incredibly generous with allowing the use of ALL kinds of glass (including dichroic). I think the class design was exceptional....and I've even signed up for a new class there next month because of it.
Cons : There simply wasn't a negative to this class at all....we ran out of time, but only because he entertained so many questions !
Other Thoughts : Now that I know what I know.....maybe in the beginning of this class there could be an announcement stating that anyone who HAS used kilns (or other glasswork projects) to please just be patient and allow the class to flow as it needs to. Maybe simply explain upfront that it's designed that way because there are most likely folks in the class who have NOT been exposed to kilns?

Pros : Delightful class, delightful instructor. Instant gratification.
Cons : Being able to not follow through with the slumping process to its entirety but understandable and I don’t have a better idea.
Other Thoughts : Can’t wait to check out what’s next.

Pros : The instructor, Roy, is super knowledgeable and very approachable.
We got to make something right there in class and it was ready to take home by the end of class
Learned a variety of fusing basics
Cons : None
Other Thoughts : This class was the highlight of my weekend. I would recommend it for any beginner fusing enthusiast

Pros : Roy is a VERY knowledgeable and personable instructor! Lots of good information presented in a very interesting way, so that the whole process makes sense. If you go into the class a little baffled, and a lot intimidated by "firing schedules" "ramp times" "annealing" and "COEs" you will have all of the mysteries revealed! :)
Plenty of time is given to create a great collection of pendants...you are encouraged to experiment with the materials and find the colors and textures that speak to you the most. A nice chance to enjoy your creativity~nobody is "telling you what to do"~although all technical questions are kindly and patiently answered.
Anyone that I interacted with at the shop that day was friendly, professional and enthusiastic...everyones' doing a great job!
Cons : none that I can think of, it was a very worthwhile experience.

Pros : The instructor, Roy, was extremely knowledgeable, engaging, and really seemed to enjoy sharing his wealth of knowledge on the art of glass fusing. It was a fun way to spend a Sunday. And who knows? I may have picked up a new, exciting hobby.
Cons : I had no experience with glass cutting & could have used a quick 10 minute instruction on this. I know Roy would have been more than willing to assist but I didn’t feel I could take up that much time individually when others were also requesting his time & attention during our project time.
Other Thoughts : I definitely will look into coming back for additional classes.

Pros : Roy was a great instructor. He was helpful, funny, knowledgeable and made the class fun.
It was fun learning how to fuse glass to make jewelry pieces. I can't wait to put the findings on to make them necklaces.
Cons : I really enjoyed the class, but by the end I was having trouble creating my last project. It was not his fault, I was just having a creativity overload moment. By the time I got home, I thought of all sorts of things I could have done!
Other Thoughts : I am looking forward to taking another fusing class in the future. I am especially interested in slumping and kiln cast bowls.

Pros : Roy is a great instructor and alot of fun. He answered all our questions and presented the information in a way that we could understand. This class is addictive.
Cons : It can be addictive and costly.
Other Thoughts : I would like to see more mosaic classes offered.

Other Thoughts : Helps to have basic skills in order to make best use of time.

Pros : I took "Fusing Is Fun" with Roy.
I bought a kiln 2 years ago. Due to my total impatience and inability to read directions and understand them I had not made any pieces that I was completely happy with. I just got so frustrated and disheartened with the whole process I just let my kiln collect dust. I decided to take this class in hopes that I may move forward with fusing in a way that didn't make me want to pull my hair out.
Roy teaches this one day class with humor, real world application, and common sense. He allows you to take what he has taught and then attempt to fuse pieces and just see what the glass does without his direction. His style of teaching incorporates different techniques so that no matter how you learn ( ie: hands on, through books, verbally, or all of the above) you will get WAY more for your money than you anticipate. I definitely did!
Cons : None
Other Thoughts : I can't wait to try to come down and take the glass blowing class!

Pros : Ron was one of the most knowledgeable speakers we've had the pleasure of listening to. We had a remarkable time; enjoyed every minute. Thank you.
Cons :
Other Thoughts : If possible, have attendees bring a (sandwich) lunch? Lunch can be a 1/2 hour and has everyone back to class on time; no outside variables. (More time for class fun!)

Pros : Very skilled teacher. The class was thorough and interesting, even the technical parts. I enjoyed it very much and liked the items I made. Can’t wait to come back for more classes.
Cons : None
5 out of 5 stars
Pros : Excellent class. I wasn't even really interested in glass fusing before -- I just wanted to learn stained glass techniques and had taken a number of stained glass workshops at Delphi. I signed up for this out of curiosity and really loved it. Roy is a wonderful teacher: he provides a lot of information but it's all very accessible, answers any questions you might have, explains the process and safety practices, and then you jump right in. We made a bunch of jewelry pieces right away, just experimenting with colors and temperatures. After lunch, we made tiles / bowls.
The glass is all provided and you can work with pretty much any colors you want -- Roy encourages experimenting.
I would definitely sign up again for this one, or one of the more in-depth or 3-day fusing workshops.
Cons : I guess I'm gonna have to buy a kiln now...
Other Thoughts : Our group had a lot of questions and we all talked a lot about specific strategies and kinds of glass, so we ended up a bit rushed in the end to put together our tiles. But Roy answered everything and then offered to stay a bit later to give us more time... so in the end, it's not even really a "con."

Pros : Tons of knowledge, fun and enjoyed myself
Cons : Wish we would of had more time to work on the project. I did feel somewhat rushed to get it done. But please do not take that harshly. I loved it all!

Pros : Great information. Friendly staff through out the store. Roy is very knowledgeable and his examples of fired pieces are great. Enjoyed the experience.
Cons :
5 out of 5 stars
Pros : Great class packed with the basics of glass fusing. Perfect for someone (like me) who knows nothing about fusing. Lots of terminology, with two projects to channel your creative spirit. The instructor obviously is knowledgeable, but answers questions from "newbies" with grace and humor. The selection of glass that is supplied for your projects is incredible!
Cons : 6 hours at one time was a bit much. I'm glad to have taken this class, since I drove 3 hours to get there and wouldn't have done that twice for two classes. But, my brain was full after 5 hours...??
5 out of 5 stars
Pros : It was fun and incredible! I learned so much. Roy was phenomenal. Such a wealth of information. Class went by so quickly. I could have easily stayed another two hours. My family was very impressed with my hands-on projects. I cant wait to take another class. Thank you, Roy!
Cons : Would have loved to have seen the slumping process. I understand the time constraints due to the firing schedule.
Other Thoughts : The class was perfect!
3 out of 5 stars
Pros : Covered a lot of material. Seeing the project melt in the table top kilns was the best.
Cons : Class should start and end on time.
