Experience Required: Basic glass cutting and soldering skills are required.
Type of Class: Demonstration and hands-on project
Class Description: Create a wonderful stained glass box to decorate your home or to give as a gift. Complete a charming glass box as you learn the basics of 3-D glass construction. Topics will include how to build a hinge, design for durability, how to customize your box and more. Basic experience in copper foil technique is required. Students will have several basic box patterns to choose from.
Safety: Please do not work with lead or solder if you are expecting. Please do not wear sandals if cutting and handling glass. Safety glasses must be worn during class, provided if needed.
Tools & Materials Included: Use of our cutting and soldering tools along with glass grinders.
Patterns for your project willbe available.
Additional Tools & Materials: Glass for your box project - students will receive 20% off when purchasing glass for class. Solder and copper foil, mirror for the bottom, 1/2 sq. ft. (optional)
Hinge parts - rod (item # 5485) and tube (5486)
You may want to bring your own glass cutting tools and soldering tools. Tools will be available for use.
