Pros : This class is loaded with information including set up, safety and actual bead making. I made numerous beads and feel that I have a great start. I also stayed for the second class and came away with how to make flowers and decorate the beads. Val is an excellent instructor - very personable and has a wealth of experience.
Cons : None.
Other Thoughts : I highly recommend this class to anyone with is interested in glass bead.

  •   Fun and inspiring, as usual!

Pros : Val gives enough explanation of the process and safety measures at the start, then demonstrates the process... then you get to jump in and experiment! There's plenty time to make a handful of beads and to play around with different colors and decorative techniques. You have access to pretty much any colors you'd like to work with, and can make as many beads as the time allows.
Cons : As with most of these classes, I wish it was longer!

  •   Great for beginners
By on
Pros : I had no idea how glass lampworking was done. The class deals with all the basics. Enough instruction is given so that when you finish the class lots of practice is essential in order to perfect your technique. I could see improvement with each bead I made. Before leaving the studio I purchased the starter kit which saves time on buying each item individually. Now all I have to do is set up my workspace at home while paying attention to the safety tips given in class. The instructor Val was a big plus. She was very knowledgeable, easy to understand and provided individual attention when needed. I can't wait to take more classes.
Cons : I can't think of any.

  •   Basic bead making workshop

Pros : Excellent instructions from safety, differences in glass, differences of gases that can be used and step by step instructions. Plenty of time to work on instructions given for bead making and Val was always watching and giving helpful hints to what we could improve in our techniques. Loved it!!

  •   Excellent and fun class
By on
Pros : Val is a great and flexible instructor. She is skilled and open to questions...she provides a lot of room for "playing" with making beads which helps so much with the learning process. There were plenty of materials. I had concerns about doing this at home (related to safety) and she addressed these thoroughly. I would feel confident trying this at home now. Would definitely take another class with Val.
Cons :
Other Thoughts : Classes here seem very reasonable priced. I'm looking for another one to try!

  •   So Much Fun!
By on
Pros : Instructor was very patient and easy to follow her instruction. The experience was more than I thought it would be, it was very fun!
Cons : We ended up taking the second class right after. In retro it was not the best idea. If the first class would have been just an hour longer and had more time to experiment as a newbie to work on technique etc. the second class would have been more beneficial.
Other Thoughts : It was a great time and have already signed up for another glass class with my daughter in a few weeks. The store is AMAZING as well as the staff !!
