Type of Class: Lecture, demonstration and hands-on project

Class Description: Students will learn the basic copper foil method in this two-week class. Topics will include information on cutting, grinding, foiling, soldering, cleaning, patinas, and framing.  Students will learn about safety, glass types and using patterns.  Students will construct a stained glass panel approximately 9" x 11".

Safety: Please do not work with lead or solder if you are expecting. Closed toe shoes are recommended. Safety glasses should be worn (will be provided if necessary).

Tools & Materials Included: Use of our grinders and saws during the class

Additional Tools & Materials: #6980A EZ-Pro Stained Glass Start-up Kit OR #6992 Premium Start-Up Kit OR  #2404, Fid, if your kit does not have one, Glass for your project - cathedral or wispy only. You may want to purchase extra glass. Contact store staff for more info if needed. Came #5604 3/8 in. zinc, or # 5612 3/8 in. copper, 1 – 6 ft. piece. NOTE: Students are encouraged to purchase their tools before the first night of class. Time is allowed in the first class to pick out your pattern and glass. We have three free patterns that you may choose from or you can purchase a book with a different pattern. If you purchased  a kit with a grinder you do not need to bring your grinder to class.
