Type of Class: Demonstration and hands-on project

Class Description: Learn the complete lead technique in this two-week course.  Students will learn about basic construction and soldering, to cementing and whiting. Tips on design, and reinforcement will also be discussed.

Safety: Please do not work with solder or lead if you are expecting. Do not wear sandals if cutting or handling glass. Closed toe shoes are preferred. Safety glasses should be worn; will be provided if necessary.

Week 1
• wood lead board • graph paper #73604, 3/8” zinc came #5604 for framing panel • lead nippers - your own glass cutting tools - glass for your project • lead came 7/32" RH (round H)
lead came for your project • lead hammer #5138 - horseshoe nails #5480 • fid # 2404 - lead pattern shears, if needed
Week 2 • supplies listed above, plus • soldering iron • solder - flux - flux brush • cement #5539 - whiting powder #5543 • brush #5137, cut in half - latex gloves • Please wear old clothes, cementing is messy
