Description: Learn the inside and out of how to successfully make fused glass Pocket Vases. The Decorative options when combining texture and function are truly endless. This Class will provide all you need to know to create a one of a kind free standing pocket vase with wrought iron stand included. Students will also make a second decorative pocket vase suitable for hanging. This class is a one day, 3 hour classs that will focus on firing schedules, sizing, incorporating wire and adding three dimensional texture.
Safety: Please do not wear sandals if cutting or handling glass. Safety glasses must be worn during class, provided if needed.
Tools & Materials Included: All fusing materials are included and cutting tools are available for use.
Additional Tools & Materials: Paper and pen for notes - optional

Other Thoughts : Second time I've taken this class. The pocket vases are easy and make great gifts. You can make a large one and still have time to do a couple of smaller ones. Whether filled with flowers or some other decorative item, or just left empty and displayed that way, it works!
Pros : Val did a great job of explaining to us about pocket vases. She showed us the ones she made and the ones she did not like. Her overall class was great. I just wished it wasn’t 4 hours.

Pros : I've been a hot glass worker for many years but still learned several things from this class. Pace was good and the instructor was great. There were people in the class with no experience and people that had more experience than I did. The instructor was very patient and helpful.
Pros : This was a very informative class, detailing the ins and outs of creating pocket vases. There was ample time for vase creation, and Val is an excellent instructor. I really enjoyed the class and generosity in materials, shipping my finished projects, and of course, Val's knowledge. I recommend this class to anyone interested in creating these fun and funky vases.
Pros : Val did an exceptional job presenting this class. She was all about explaining and helping and helping some more. The materials for the vases were generously provided and we were even allowed to make a couple small picket vases too. I loved this class and will watch for others by Val. Thank you Val! Pros : Wide variety of skill levels from 0 to those that already had yrs of experience. Great explanations and examples. Yes, come w some ideas, but be creative on site. LOVED that we could choose our own glass!! Make a large project and then another smaller pocket vase to be hung in a window. Scrap glass was available so that was excellent option to experiment w other colors of glass. My projects were mailed to me since I lived out of town and arrived in perfect condition in 2 days! I was amazed. YES I will definitely take this class again!

Other Thoughts : a suggestion - some type of description of size & number of projects allowed & a list of possible materials to be used. in this case, because it was customer choice, a suggestion to bring a pattern of choice, thus allowing the instructor to assist with glass selection and cutting instead of finding and/or enlarging patterns provided.
