Type of Class: Demonstration and hands-on project
Class Description: Blow some Glaskolben tubes for ornaments and to fuse into a decorative plate. Students will blow a few glass globes, keeping some as ornaments and or using the less than perfect ones to decorate a clear 9 x 9 inch fusable piece of glass. You will make your own one of a kind colorful abstract glass plate by fusing some of the blown glass globes, glass frit and glass stringer to the clear base piece of glass. No glass fusing experience is necessary. All materials are included.
Safety: Please do NOT wear open toed shoes or sandals. Long pants are recommended but not mandatory. Natural fiber clothes are best, cotton, linen, etc. Long hair should be tied back. Safety glasses must be worn, glasses are provided in class if needed.
Tools & Materials Included: Each student will have the use of a complete workstation, including torch, hand tools and glass. Glaskolben pre-blown clear glass cylinders Glass frit Safety glasses will be provided.
