Class Description: Do you have questions about casting in bisque molds? Ever wonder what type of mold works best? How to prepare your molds? Want to know what type and form of glass to use? How much glass should you use? How do you fire castings? And the most tragic cry, "Help, my glass is stuck in the mold!"  Casting is different from other forms of working with warm glass with its own tricks and techniques. In this class we will work with frit, dichroic glass and sheet glass to create unique jewelry pieces and other forms. Some previous fusing experience is helpful but not necessary.

Safety: Closed toe shoes are recommended.

Tools & Materials Included: All materials, including fusible glass, frits and the use of reusable casting molds. Use of our tools

  •   Craft time too short

Pros : Great instruction. Learned a LOT about how to care for and properly coat molds prior to using. Get to keep mold after piece completed.
Cons : 1 1/2hr talking and only 1/2 hr working on project. Truly it didn't take long after we started, but the "fun" part was over before I knew it.
Other Thoughts : I love my pendant, but would have liked more craft time. In future recommend maybe allow two pieces per person.
