Type of Class: Demonstration and hands-on project

Class Description: Students will create a silver slide pendant in this introductory class to working with silver clay. Class will cover the various forms of silver jewelry clay and the unique applications of each. You will learn how to fire the clay using a butane torch along with the uses of other tools. Topics will include various techniques, embellishing, texturing, polishing finished pieces and safety.

Safety: Safety glasses should be worn when using the torch, will be provided

Tools & Materials Included: Use of our tools and torch, some silver clay paste and syringe type

Additional Tools & Materials: Students need to purchase metal clay, like item # 67012

Optional Tools & Materials: Students may want to purchase a silver clay starter kit or individual tools.

Pros : 1 day in length- allowed out of towners to attend Cost reasonable Great instructor!! Think I have learned enough to begin trying work on my own.
Cons : Perhaps a list of good references or books or videos to assist when we try again on our own.
Other Thoughts : Loved this class. I live about 2 1/2 hrs away so tough to come to classes. But I will watch for more 1 day classes to take in the futire.

Pros : A new learning experience
Cons : Needed more torches or fewer in the class so everyone could complete their projects
Other Thoughts : Opened a new crafting option for me to possibly do at home.
