Type of Class: Demonstration and hands-on project
Class Description: Students will create a silver slide pendant in this introductory class to working with silver clay. Class will cover the various forms of silver jewelry clay and the unique applications of each. You will learn how to fire the clay using a butane torch along with the uses of other tools. Topics will include various techniques, embellishing, texturing, polishing finished pieces and safety.
Safety: Safety glasses should be worn when using the torch, will be provided
Tools & Materials Included: Use of our tools and torch, some silver clay paste and syringe type
Additional Tools & Materials: Students need to purchase metal clay, like item # 67012
Optional Tools & Materials: Students may want to purchase a silver clay starter kit or individual tools.
