Experience Required: No previous experience is required. This class is great for beginners that want an immersive experience, a wonderful refresher course for those that have been out of it for a while or for those copper foil enthusiasts that want to improve their skills.
Type of Class: Demonstration and hands-on projects
Class Description: Learn how to cut faster and more accurately, foil and solder more flawlessly, and patina and polish you artwork. You’ll see special techniques for challenging cuts, especially on hand rolled glasses, including high - texture glass like ripples. Demonstrations will include making better piece patterns and repair techniques for copper foil panels. Take your copper foil work to the next level as you improve upon your glass making skills.
Safety: Please do not work with solder or lead if you are pregnant. Open toed shoes and sandals are not recommended when cutting and handling glass. Safety glasses are recommended when cutting and grinding glass.
Tools & Materials Included: Glass, foil, solder for stained glass panel
Pattern book from recommended list
Use of grinders and access to glass saws
Additional Tools & Materials: Tools for copper foil work; cutters, breakers, soldering iron, etc. Panel must not be larger than 16 in. x 16 in.
