3-Day Winter Chill Naturescapes with Nadine Booth

Glass artist Nadine Booth is back at Delphi to teach another fun and exciting Naturescape class. 

Join Nadine as she teaches her Naturescapes to students  This year, students will create a fun enticing winter snow scene. Learn how to convey the ambiance of nature by enticing viewers to step into nature by layering various glass forms.  Gain valuable insight into glass placement, torch work, powder and frit usage, coldworking and much more.  Class includes manipulating images for translation into glass and observation exercises.  Dive into the process of kiln techniques, placement of glass stringers, rods, frit layers that represent a playful balance of nature and control.  Everything from creating a unique piece to mounting your finished piece.

Class will begin with a discussion about Nadine’s techniques and thought processes for building details of nature and how to manipulate images for translation into glass through drawing and observation exercises. Before beginning to create a Naturescape, students will analyze the image for design elements, such as lines, shapes and values, such as contrast, balance and symmetry. Within the student's progress, they gain valuable insight into glass placement, torch work, frit stenciling, cold working, applying color, balance that builds texture and depth and much more.   
During construction Nadine helps to develop each student’s vision of expression and style by giving advice and voicing suggestions.  Demos of other elements of nature and mounting options are shown on the third day.

Some glass fusing is recommended.  All supplies are included.
