  •   creative class, but no product

Pros : You can be very creative.
Cons : All you do in the class is design the outer rim of the bowl and fill it with your desired pattern. I had wished I received more instructions or directions prior to class so I could have had time to either think plan or sketch a design, not something impromptu. The instructor then does all the firing. The problem is it is now almost 7 weeks since I have had the class and I still don't have my finished project!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Other Thoughts : This would be better as an online class. I could have ordered the product I need, taken some time to think about what I want, then follow the instructions, fired it myself and had a finished product in a fraction of the time AND it would have been a better learning experience learning the firing.

  •   Best class yet at Delphi
By on
Pros : New process, great coaching by Roy, learned from others in the class
Cons : Wish it were a little longer, maybe a 3 hour class? Or maybe it was just this group.
Other Thoughts : Have taken several classes at Delphi over the past 3 years. Roy Kapp is just an amazing resource who is most willing to share everything he knows. Takes time with every student and answered all our many questions.

  •   It's Hard Waiting

Pros : -so fascinating -learned a lot about 'personalities' of glass -a new avenue for me to explore -Roy is again his humourous knowledgable self!
Cons : -could you make this over two days so we could at least see our patty before it is dropped? -perhaps we could do two sizes... I would really like to know more about the actual fusing. I'm not sure my little kiln would handle this..
Other Thoughts : Looking forward to Kiln Cast Bowls 202
