Type of Class: Demonstration and hands-on project
Class Description: Students will be taught basic lead construction for an engraved bevel, surrounded by colored glass, with a 1½ in. bevel border. Class includes techniques for cutting, fitting, soldering, cementing, and cleaning your panel.
Safety: Please do not work with solder or lead if you are expecting. Do not wear sandals if cutting or handling glass. Closed toe shoes are preferred. Safety glasses should be worn; will be provided if necessary.
Tools & Materials Included: All materials needed for this class. Use of our grinders during class.
Additional Tools & Materials: If you wear glasses, please bring them. You will be cutting the lead came into 90 degree angles. Latex/rubber gloves for cementing. Inexpensive face mask for cementing. You may bring your own stained glass tools if desired. NOTE: Please wear old clothes, cementing is messy! You may want to bring a lunch/snack for an optional ½ hour break.
