Product Description

You'll love creating fused art with Youghiogheny (pronounced Yock-uh-gain-ee) Y-96 Fusible Glass. This line of 96 COE compatible glass is sure to be a crowd-pleaser with a palette of robust opal, transparent and streaky colors. Y-96 Glass is tested using a dilatometer and fusing tests are examined with a polariscope to ensure our product meets the set standard.

Add an extra dimension of beauty to your art. This iridized glass gives off a rainbow of colors!

Primary image left side shows uncoated fired base glass; right side shows fired iridized coating. Second image shows front iridized of glass; third image shows back of glass.

Delphi Tip: Fire glass iridescent side down on kiln paper to ensure the coating will remain intact for additional firings..

Note: not all kilns are alike. Your kiln size, controller type, and individual project may require some alteration to the schedule for best results.

Delphi Tip: Clean Y-96 glass thoroughly with a non-ammonia glass cleaner before firing to get a smooth, gloss finish in your fired art. Cap with clear for an extra glossy finish.
Fire glass iridized side down for a brilliant luster. If it is fired face side up and/or capped the coating will burn away.

Y96 Recommended Firing Schedules

Delphi Tip: We recommend using a project and firing log to keep track of information about your projects and firing schedules can be an extremely useful tool for every artist. Once you've achieved a good result you can reference the logs to re-create the project or simply re-use a firing schedule for a similar project. Click here to download our free firing log.
