Pros : I liked that this book left room for adding my own creative touches. Recording times and temperatures in the log that was provided has given me a useful reference for future projects.
Cons : Would love to see a follow-up book
Other Thoughts : I found a microwave oven at a garage sale that is dedicated to fusing and firing

Pros : I got this as I had just bought the fuseworks microwave kiln and thought it be great to have useful tips and projects. It is written quite straightforwardly and reasonably easy to follow.
Cons : There's nothing in this book that I couldn't have figured out for myself or thought of experimenting with. It might be a good basis for some but I got more information from the many good internet sites out there. The whole style of the projects is quite dated and some make you say "why?" because they're just a bit strange.
Other Thoughts : Crank it into the noughties - jazz it up and have some wearable, tasteful projects, not strange, questionable ones.

Pros : I have always considered myself to be artistically challenged..this book has changed that forever! I have been able to make things I never thought possible! This book is very easy to follow with every possible question answered for you right there without having to call a help line or search a website for answers! I have gone from an artistic mess to a craft diva! I can't wait to give my one of a kind Christmas gifts this year. Amazing!!

Other Thoughts : I would recommend this book to anyone!

nice projects... little instructon 2 stars

Pros : The projects are creative for use in the microwave kiln. Better than the other book on microwave kilns but...
Cons : While the projects are cute- the instructions are decidedly lacking in detail. I create silver clay jewelry using Japanese written manuals (no translations) with better success. The book is written to use with a 1200 watt machine- if I am buying this expensive a microwave plus the kiln I might as well get a hotbox kiln.
Other Thoughts : the kiln is a neat idea for beginners but [the book] doesn't do a good job of explaining how to do things and it is really annoying in that the only temp/times it gives is using 1200 watt microwave- as the times are at a 100% it does tell me how long to add if I have an 800-1100 watt oven= causing considerable experimental time and waste of glass.
