Pros
this bit makes fast work of grinding larger surfaces or excess glass.

Cons
it is a coarse grinding bit so it needs a second grind with a standard or fine bit. it also chews the edges of dichro worse than a standard bit.

Other Thoughts
this bit is great at removing excess glass- it allows me to avoid using my ring saw to remove excess glass from edges of my fused glass.

Fuseworks Microwave Kiln

Pros
The projects are creative for use in the microwave kiln. Better than the other book on microwave kilns but...

Cons
While the projects are cute- the instructions are decidedly lacking in detail. I create silver clay jewelry using Japanese written manuals (no translations) with better success. The book is written to use with a 1200 watt machine- if I am buying this expensive a microwave plus the kiln I might as well get a hotbox kiln.

Other Thoughts
the kiln is a neat idea for beginners but [the book] doesn't do a good job of explaining how to do things and it is really annoying in that the only temp/times it gives is using 1200 watt microwave- as the times are at a 100% it does tell me how long to add if I have an 800-1100 watt oven= causing considerable experimental time and waste of glass.

Pros
I purchased this to go with the kiln that I teach with and my students love being able to watch the fusing process.

Cons
It is a bit expensive when purchased separately.

Other Thoughts
Works with all of my 8" kilns and is great to use with students or beginners so the temperature remains constant.

Twisted Fiber Rope - 8 Ft

Pros
This rope has the ability to be used in varying diameters-use whole or untwisted to make smaller holes

Cons
At full fuse temperatures the glass tends to develop sharp and jagged edges when compared to using 1/4 inch felt paper.
