Bio

Born and raised in Michigan, now a local Oregonian has turned a hobby into art. Jennifer Callahan, a Kindergarten teacher in Remond, Oregon was inspired by her move to Oregon in 2012 to shift some of her creative talents from the classroom and into her personal life. Instead of crayons and glue sticks, her medium at home is glass. In particular, glass bottles, upcycled into wind chimes, lights, and lanterns. At first, she used items from her own recycling bin, making unique gifts for friends. The more of these gifts she gave, the more encouragement she received to start a business. Now, you’ll find her work on display at local craft markets, art events, and bazaars during most of the year. Several Central Oregon businesses offer her work for sale and several businesses in Redmond and Sisters have her art on display. A number of local restaurants have partnered with her to give their empty bottles a chance at another life, as Oregon Bottle Art.
