  •   Works for me!

Pros : Set up properly, does exactly what it’s intended to do. Love that you can bring down blade support bar down closer to the glass and take away the longer stretch of the blade to the glass.
Cons : None for now.
Other Thoughts : If you follow the instructions and the blade tension is where it should be (didn’t have to touch mine from the factory) and don’t force your glass you should not have issues such as snapping the blade. I’ve read reviews with that being the biggest complaint. I took a chance after watching Delphi’s video and I paid attention to the quality and workmanship while watching the video and I liked what I saw. I got mine today and gave it a trial run and it performed perfectly. I let the saw do the work and didn’t force anything. I also have another bandsaw and this Diamond Elite is a much more quality build which you should expect with it being a bit more pricey. The Diamond Elite is quieter and has better/quality adjustments. It’s not something I will use every day but I expect, from what I’ve done so far, for it to last a good long time.

  •   Finicky
By on
Pros : The width of the blade cut is perfect. This saw is a must-have if you want multiple pieces of glass cuts to match up perfectly (as in the lines of a sky or feathers.)
Cons : It’s finicky and requires precision tuning.
Other Thoughts : Replace those little screw with stainless screws. The ones used will rust and seize up.

  •   Not what I expected
By on
Pros : Made of good quality material
Cons : My old saw that finally died cut like butter, this … so much harder to cut with not smooth at all.
Other Thoughts : Really wishing I had gone with a different saw but it’s too late now. I’m still cutting by hand instead.

  •   DL 3000
By on
Pros : This saw works great when you first start using it. I am able to cut very detailed pieces. I love it.
Cons : The instructions are not detailed enough when making adjustments necessary after changing the blade. I also feel the door and the base which holds water is build out of poor quality plastic.
Other Thoughts : Over all I love the band saw

  •   Love my DL 3000 XL Band SAw
By on
Pros : AFTER I ordered my DL3000XL I read a bunch of negative reviews on this site about the light on this saw and about water making a mess. I LOVE the saw. The light is great but not necessarily needed because I have an overhead light above my saw and there is NOTHING obscuring the view of the working service. Even though it has a flat blade compared to my last saw which had a round one, I found it easy to cut curves. It is quiter than my last saw. It cuts so much faster and it is true...the cut is fine which means it removes less glass making my work more accurate. I LOVE MY NEW SAW.
Cons : I think the saw is PERFECT.
Other Thoughts : I WILL RECOMMEND THIS SAW TO ALL MY GLASS ARTIST FRIENDS.

Pros : multi-uses, fast, diamond blade very durable. We bought this initially just for stained glass. It proved to be just as advertised. Fast and great for small difficult cuts.
Cons : Water ends up on floor, somewhat cheap plastic pieces for the water sources that keep the blade wet while cutting.
Other Thoughts : We purchased this for cutting glass for our stained glass projects. We found it to be perfect for what we purchased it for. That was in 2005. Almost 10 years later it is still running strong and we just recently were renovating our bathroom and had very difficult tile to cut. A tile cutter would have broken the tile. We tried using the XL 3000 to cut the fragile tile and low and behold, it cut it perfect. Next, we tried it with regular tile for some very difficult cuts that a tile cutter would never have been able to get. With a little effort, it managed to cut the tile perfectly. I would have given it 5 stars if we didn't have to change how to catch the water so it doesn't end up on the floor all the time. Great tool!

  •   Great little tool
By on
Pros : Just got these saw today and I can cut 3 to 4 times more items in a day then what I was cutting before I got it. This thing will save me time, glass, copper wrap, soldier, and grinding bits. I really like it and think it is a very good item for the money.
Cons : Had to rework the water catch tray is there is not a big water mess on the floor but is not a big deal ... Just cut a couple of pieces of plastic and taped them in place.
Other Thoughts : I woulda ell anyone starting in stain glass to get this.

  •   Thankfully, there's Delphi!
By on
Pros : Makes intricate, narrow kerf cuts and is relatively simple to use once properly set up.
Cons : Machine is poorly built. First machine's electrical receptacle used to receive the water pump plug made intermittent contact. One had to physically hold the plug at a specific angle to allow water pump to work.... not acceptable. Outlet elbow of pump leaked badly. Spray bar leaked severely at flow adjustment knob. Water reservoir that saw sits on top of is way too small to accommodate excess water dripping off edges of cutting table. Cutting table was difficult to situate in the correct position due to loosely manufactured mounting position. Small, green, built in light used to illuminate work while cutting is worthless (why green?). Fortunately, a bright, shop, white led head light purchased from Home Depot is great for illuminating work and is infinitely adjustable. Overall, the unit is a poorly manufactured machine, as should have been expected from bad Chinese made goods. Fortunately, unit was exchanged for another one from Delphi Glass. Still poorly designed but works.
Other Thoughts : Although the new saw still needs some modifications and requires a large drip pan to set underneath in order to catch the dripping water, it isn't leaking from the pump or the spray bar valve. The water pump plug fits its receptacle properly. However, the fit of the cutting table, where it bolts to the machine has gone from too loose to so tight that I had to get one of my metric sized allen head socket wrenches, extension and 3/8 ratchet to install the extremely tight mounting bolt due to poor alignment of bolt hole with threaded hole on saw. This bolt is too tight for the included allen wrench to tighten it completely. When first used, blade popped off one of the wheels. Had to readjust tension and guides. Will have to replace green laser light (actually an led) with a white light. $400 plus is a great deal of money to be spending on a machine that requires modifications to get it to operate as intended. We were very fortunate that Delphi Glass was so helpful to us.

  •   3000XL Bandsaw
By on
Pros : I have had this machine for 2 years now and it's as great as the 1st day I opened it. Makes cutting difficult turns so casy.
Cons : Takes an extra few minutes to cut a piece but it is cutting and grinding the edges at the same time. So I don't mind.
Other Thoughts : You will love this machine as part of your shop. Easy to use.

  •   Regret this purchase
By on
Pros : Cuts glass well. Blade has lasted longer than I thought.
Cons : The green "Laser" Light is an absolute joke that is attached like an afterthought and adds no value or function. The table top is impossible to level - maybe because it rests on a curved piece underneath and never really sets firmly. I constantly have to adjust the blade guides because the whole thing shakes them loose. And water goes everywhere except in the container below. The entire casing above the cutting surface gets completely wet and drips down onto the green laser light. We added extra sponges along the blade, but still doesn't solve the problem.
Other Thoughts : For what this machine costs, I shouldn't have to make modifications in order for it to work. Very disappointing. Research other saws before you purchase this one.

  •   diamond laser 3000xl bandsaw

Pros : cuts glass great. Eliminates sanding time.
Cons : The green light is a joke, why not put a white light instead? I purchased a flexible light, the kind that is used for outdoor bbq's, what an improvement!

  •   Frustrated
By on
Pros : The saw worked great for about 2 months....
Cons : After 2 months of amazing satisfaction, the upper wheel some how worked its way towards the door, causing it to rub the inside of the door. I have had the thing apart and gotten the wheel pushed back, but now am having a horrible time getting the wheels aligned to hold the blade for longer than 2 seconds!
Other Thoughts : I really like this saw, and did some amazing cuts while it was operational. I'm very frustrated at the moment and hope that I can get the wheels adjusted back so the blade will track properly.

  •   Has problems
By on
Pros : Nice cutting edge. Great full range cutting.
Cons : This machine has problems with the curcuit board. Purchased the first one in Nov. 2010 and the second one in Dec. 2010. I turned the machine on and off 5 times and cut a 1 inch piece of class then it stopped working. The saw manufacturer was very good about taking care of the problem which they admitted they had. I was not the only one with problems. They were having a tech from China in to see if he could figure out the problem. When the curcuit board gets fixed I'm sure it will be a great machine. The manufacturer suggested that we look at a different saw to purchase. I appreciated their suggestion.

  •   Some Solutions
By on
Pros : I have this saw and love it, however my local stained glass supplier did offer some solutions to problems mentioned. They gave me a triangular piece of clear glass that rests in the catch tray under the cutting surface. It acts as a splash guard and catches 90 percent of the water. Also, I've tacked a couple of sponges along the blade's route which also reduces excess water. I keep the water valve half-closed too...there's no need for a constant stream to be spraying everywhere. People who are saying it doesn't cut tight circles may not have the blade guides installed properly. If the blade is not tight up against the white block and the metal guides are holding it perpendicular, there's no way it will cut those tight turns easily. When it's on correctly, it cuts like a dream
Cons : changing the blade takes some practice and the instruction manual could be more detailed.

  •   Could have been a good product . . .
By on
Pros : It works.
Cons : Cheap construction throughout. A cheap skateboard bearings rusted solid in a few months of use, the table is way out of flat, the cheesy plastic cover door has warped to the point I needed install a screw to hold in the bottom of it, the wheels are wobbly enough that the saw vibrates at top speed, the "work light" is a joke. The only attempt by the manufacturer to control water spraying and dripping everywhere is a piece of sponge that gets stuffed into a little metal channel. Once you start a cut the paper-thin warped table resonates with enough noise to wake the dead. All the internal parts that are constantly exposed to water are now solid rust. I've been using this saw on a daily basis for three years now and during the first three months it spent most of its time in the shop for repairs and necessary modifications.
Other Thoughts : For a beginner or somebody who will use the saw only on occasion, it might do. For the professional, forget it. Too bad there isn't a really good saw on the market.

  •   DL 3000 Bandsaw
By on
Pros : I am a full time studio artist with over 20 years experience using professional level scroll and bandsaws with wood. Considering I had NO experience with wet saws or glass, the transition was easy and I have been able to teach Mosaic students to use my 2 DL3000s easily and with a high degree of safety. I somehow got the tension messed up while changing a blade and the Delphi and Diamond Tech staff were helpful. I had to send the saw back to Diamond Tech for re-adjustment but it was free and they were very kind in not over emphasizing the error of my ways. Be cautious in aligning the blade and adjusting tension on the wheels. The main issue for me is safety and find this to be easy enough to use that even a beginner can be confident enough to practice safe cutting. Very much like the adjustment for cutting thick/thin pieces. A good, reliable piece of equipment for frequent use by multiple users.
Cons : Water does splash everywhere (each saw sprays in a different direction) and does not stay contained in the drip tank. I have had to remove the plastic tubing from the pump numerous times to clean it out. If you don't keep the water tank clean all of the residue filters thru the pump and clogs the tube.

  •   Diamond Laser Bandsaw
By on
Pros : Makes great cuts once you get used to blade. Does take a bit of patience. Cant force the blade to cut faster.
Cons : I'm tired of getting water everywhere. My fingers are pruned by the time I'm done with a project. Water just splashes all over my work table. Annoying!
Other Thoughts : Happier with my ringsaw

  •   A great saw
By on
Pros : I recently installed some marble (subway) tiles in our bathroom. Since this tile is not as brittle as ceramic tile, it didn't break cleanly when I used a tile cutter. My Laser 3000XL saved the day. It produced perfect, clean, straight cuts and precise curves. Don't know what I would have done without it.
Cons : Since the tile was 1/4 inch thick, the sawing was a bit slow. As long as I didn't force the tile into the blade, it worked perfectly.

  •   Its Quite Messy
By on
Pros : 1. The saw does simple cuts really well and is pretty fast. 2. Cuts are nice and smooth and can go straight to the kiln without much cleaning or grinding.
Cons : 1. Wear an apron! The saw spits water everywhere! I usually end up soaked. 2. You have to put the entire unit into some kind of large bucket or else you will have a huge puddle on the floor. I use a large storage tote. 3. The little green light that comes with it to light up the blade is pretty sad. I had to buy a separate light so I could see what I was doing. 4. Doesn't do interior tight turns very well. The thickness of the blade gets in the way. I don't know how they did the piece in the picture but sure couldn't get it to do that!
Other Thoughts : This is my first and only saw and it does what I need it to but I do wish I had bought one of the ring saws.

  •   Love it
By on
Pros : After watching the on line video of products, I chose this saw for the ability to complete quick turns for intricate designs. In addition, the video showed the ability to stack two pieces to get a mirror image. This worked with ease and my piece "Toeing the Lines" shown in the Gallery (under Jewelry) shows the turns and mirror image. The product was easy to set up and requires little maintenance.
Cons : As in another review, I had to redirect the water to ensure it fell back into the collector.
Other Thoughts : I am just starting out with glass work and as the saying goes "if I can use this saw, so can you".

  •   Saw with great value!
By on
Pros : Reduces waste, cost, and time! Great for beginners like myself. Very little assembly was needed. Delphi technical department recommended this saw for my needs. They were very patient with me and my questions about which saw was right for me! The outstanding support I have had with Delphi is the reason I am taking the time to review their product and service. I am not a Delphi employee. I am a contractor who wants to integrate colored glass with exotic wood and lighting. I've used wet saws to cut tile and other masonary products and this saw does a great job cutting glass. Delphi saved me time and money which is paramount to my success! Thank you Delphi! Mark S. in Clifton Park, New York.
Cons : Had to add a mylar strip to prevent water from dripping out of the bucket resevoir. I had to apply the mylar strip (Tape) just left of the bottom black rubber wheel. (Just below the sponge) I used a 3 inch strip of clear packing tape and applied it to the neck and bucket to keep water from creeping between them. Very minor problem. Great saw!
Other Thoughts : The saw came with an extra blade which added value to my purchase! I figured if my first blade broke, I had another as a backup. If you are using this saw for the first time, you will like the variable speed control of the blade. The saw is very very quiet! I can do work late at night and not wake the wife or kids. I haven't made many curved cuts, but the few that I have made went quite well and required very little effort. Just go slow and don't force the glass too hard against the blade. Great saw for the money!!!
