Fused Glass Magnets

Experience Required: No fusing or glass cutting experience required

Type of Class: Verbal instruction and hands-on guidance for this self-directed class

Class Description: Whether you are a glass artist with 20+ years of experience or a novice in need of a handmade gift, this class will provide a safe and informative environment to create glass magnets! Students will be given a 6” square kiln shelf has their final firing surface, meaning you can make any shape or quantity that fits on there by the end of class. All materials and equipment use are covered in the tuition of the class. On top of glass, students will have access to embellishments like wire, glassline paints, frit, and stringer. 

The instructor will fire the projects after class and fix them with magnets once cooled. Pieces are ready for pick up in a week, or shipped to you for a small fee.

Safety: Closed toed shoes are recommended when cutting or handling glass. Safety glasses should be worn when cutting glass, and will be provided if necessary.

Additional Tools & Materials: It is recommended to bring design inspiration for your magnets! When choosing a reference photo, stick to simple shapes/ outlines, or search for clipart of your desired image (ex: clipart flower). We will have paper available if you wish to draw your pattern.
