Experience Required: Some previous beadmaking or other flameworking experience is recommended, but not required.
Type of Class: Demonstration and hands-on project
Class Description: Tim’s two-day course offers a fun stress free and creative range of flameworking techniques for the beginner as well as for the intermediate flameworking artist. Using borosilicate glass, students will be taught to make and create a variety of small solid sculptural and hollow forms. The main focus of this fun class will be to advance into the exciting and unlimited options that hollow tubing can offer. Small hollow vessels, beads, and small goblets will be achieved by all. Topics including using and adding color for detail and interest will also be a part of this awesome class. Get to know Tim Drier and his work in our blog.
Safety: Please do NOT wear open toed shoes or sandals. Long pants are recommended but not mandatory. Natural fiber clothes are best, cotton, linen, etc. Long hair should be tied back. Safety glasses must be worn, glasses are provided in class if needed.
Tools & Materials Included: Includes materials and use of torches & tools.
Additional Tools & Materials: Didymium glasses will be provided, but students may wish to bring or purchase “Boroscope” glasses (item# 45105).
