Dichroic creates a dazzling rainbow of colors that changes right before your eyes: just view it at different angles, backgrounds and lighting.
Herringbone Ripple textured-glass represents a pinnacle of glass-making craftsmanship. The rough ripples with a zigzag or feathered pattern is created during the sheet-forming process, rotating the roller faster than its own forward travel causes the rippled effect. The rapidly cooling and solidifying top and bottom surfaces of the sheet are forced to slide over one another using the still-fluid middle layer as a lubricant. The resulting texture quickly chills enough to permanently retain the ripple pattern.
Full sheet. Diameter measures 19". 90 COE. Surface of glass has both reflected and transmitted colors, the viewable color changes with the angle. This sheet has cyan transmitted and dark red reflected.
