About Weller
Weller is a long-established name in soldering, and in stained glass the iron and its tip decide how a bead runs. Temperature control matters: too cool and solder drags and lumps, too hot and it runs away from you and can crack glass. Irons rated around 700 and 800 degrees cover most foil and came work.
Tip width is the other half. A narrow tip suits fine lines and tight detail; a wider tip holds more heat and lays a smoother, more even bead over long runs. Delphi carries Weller tips in a range of widths and temperature ratings. Tips are consumable - they oxidise and pit with use - so replacing a worn tip usually fixes soldering that has quietly got harder.
