  •   OUTSTANDING KILN FOR THE MONEY!
By on
Pros : I am new to fusing and have only been working with and in glass for a few years now, basically cold working lass until I was given my first microwave kiln. I was then hooked on fusing. I have been able to achieve some amazing glass fusing moving up to this electric kiln! It takes some time and some experimenting to find out just what this kiln can do but once you have figured out times to set then you can make some very beautiful things.
Cons : I out grew this kiln after a year or so and graduated to a much larger kiln but in my very small studio this kiln worked out just great for me.
Other Thoughts : I would not hesitate to recommend this kiln to a beginner in glass and Delphi has always been there to help answer any questions I had along the way. As I said in the beginning OUTSTANDING KILN for the money

  •   Convenient Size - Temperamental
By on
Pros : Great size for small projects
Cons : No temperature setting and it is completely unknown what the temperature fires to. Nothing in the instruction book.
Other Thoughts : Manufacturer may want to provide guidance on firing. It cracked 4 molds until I got the on/off firing time down. Don't fire for a full 10 or 15 minutes without preheating it!

  •   Great table topper
By on
Pros : Love this little kiln. I had been using microwave kilns for years and love the room this one affords. I've been able to expand my fusing art by leaps and bounds.
Cons : The heating element has a tendency to fall out of the top if you open the top to roughly so be gentle. Also use kiln paper underneath your products and not just kiln wash.

  •   Ok For Beginners
By on
Pros : Easy to plug in and not an electrical hog. Decent for practicing.
Cons : The lid mechanics - cheap and unreliable. No pyrometer so very difficult to gauge what level of fuse. Directions do provide time recommendations for Tack, contour, and full fusing. Nothing I’ve done has agreed with the suggested times. I know they’re just suggested, but I Wasting a lot of glass trying to calibrate schedules.
Other Thoughts : Saving for a much better kiln.

  •   Don’t waste money
By on
Pros : Easy to operate
Cons : Easy to operate because it is controlled by plugging it in and unplugging it. No control of temperature or rate of change.
Other Thoughts : Save your money as this kiln is already a quarter the cost of one that will allow you to control the process. I am sorry I wasted my money.
