Bio

I begin working with ceramic tile and mosaic art over 25 years ago. I set my art aside for several years, while raising my family. As my children grew I was once again able to focus on my artwork. Three years ago I added glass mosaic and more recently glass on glass mosaic to my portfolio. I was born and raised on the North Carolina coast. The ocean and beach remain a passion and a place of peace for me and are therefore a frequent theme for my work. I like so many others have broken places in my life that on their own appear shattered. However when our brokenness is woven into a lifetime it can become a source of beautiful strength. I find mosaic artwork to mimic life in that way. I start each piece with a pile of random broken pieces and with care attention and time fit each piece together to form something wonderful and beautiful. For me I find mosaic work to be such a beautiful Example of how brokenness can be transformed into exquisite beauty. In addition to one of a kind pieces I create also consider commission work from photos, of both scenic places in pet portraits.
